I am delighted to announce that my album Aengus Hackett Trio has been selected for the most extensive and comprehensive jazz critics poll in the world, The 19th Annual Francis Davis Jazz Poll !
The full poll is curated by renowned critic Tom Hull and published in prestigious Boston arts magazine The Arts Fuse and also in more concise form on Hull’s website.
The poll invited some 280 distinguished jazz journalists and broadcasters from around the world, and received and compiled 177 ballots with lists of their top 10 new jazz albums, plus lists of several more specialized categories.
My album placed in the Debut category. The company I am in here really blew my mind, such as André 3000 from Outkast! Huge thanks to Philip Watson, jazz critic for Irish Times and Irish Examiner for nominating my album, it is a great honour.
