Formed in July 2014, Zinc combine hypnotic grooves with raw textures to bring you on a trip. Made up of three distinct elements, the band’s sound is infectious. Andrew Madec, in his approach to the bass guitar, throws all preconceptions out the window. With an array of effects pedals at his fingertips, he creates lush, dreamy textures. Underneath this is the minimal drumming of Simon Kenny, providing a powerful bedrock for Aengus Hackett’s gritty guitar playing.
Put these three ingredients together, and you get Zinc – exhilarating post-rock, with the roughness of hip-hop, and the melodic side of electronica.
